ZOMM Now Available at Best Buy Stores Nationwide

The world’s first wireless leash for Bluetooth enabled mobile phones is now available for purchase in Best Buy retail stores across the U.S.

TULSA, Okla. (July 6, 2010)ZOMM, an emerging technology company, announces that the world’s first wireless leash for mobile phones, a CES award-winning device also called ZOMM, is now available in Best Buy stores nationwide.

Using Bluetooth® technology, the keychain-sized ZOMM prevents users from losing or misplacing their mobile phone by vibrating, flashing lights and sounding an alarm when they separate from their phone.  With added features of call notification, a fully functional speakerphone with a noise-canceling microphone and personal safety device, ZOMM is the ultimate, multi-functional accessory for any Bluetooth-enabled phone.

“Mobile phones are packed full of personal information and confidential business communication, so losing one is a nightmare for most people,” said Henry Penix, CEO and co-founder of ZOMM.  “We created ZOMM to fill a tremendous void in the marketplace.  Having ZOMM now available in all Best Buy stores nationwide will help fill that void.”

In addition to saving users the hassle associated with misplacing their phone, ZOMM also flashes lights, vibrates and sounds an alert for incoming calls when their phone is out of site, such as in a purse, gym bag or briefcase. The fully functioning speakerphone features a built-in noise-cancelling microphone allowing users to answer calls on-the-go with just one press of a button.

ZOMM also enables users to sound a panic alarm with one press of a button, deterring “would-be” attackers and notifying others nearby that they are in distress. By continuing to hold the multifunction button through the alarm, ZOMM will call local emergency assistance or a number that the user programs from anywhere in the world, using the user’s mobile phone signal.

ZOMM being sold in Best Buy stores across the country reinforces our reasons for creating this device in the first place,” said Laurie Penix, president and co-founder of ZOMM. “Best Buy reaches our core demographic, and we are excited to be delivering our product to consumers through such a respected retailer.”

The lithium-ion battery in the ZOMM will last up to three days with normal usage before needing to be recharged with the micro-USB wall charger that is included with the ZOMM.  ZOMM also comes with an optional belt clip for additional functionality, and a micro-USB cord that connects to any computer for charging the battery, activation and firmware updates.

Retailing for $79.99, ZOMM is available in both black and white color options. ZOMM is also available online at www.BestBuy.com. For more information on ZOMM, please visit us online at www.zomm.com.
